MoboTrex: Sharing Expertise with Future Experts

At MoboTrex, we’re trusted to make sense out of complex situations.

Becoming a trusted expert in the mobility and traffic control industry doesn’t happen overnight. It’s no secret that a large portion of expertise comes through experience.

We’re looking for interns who are working toward an engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or manufacturing technology – with a motivation to succeed and a desire to work in this industry.

No matter the innate intelligence or quality of education, each expert at MoboTrex was once a beginner.

With that in mind, we’re proud to announce that MoboTrex is expanding its summer internship program to four interns. Over the past few years, we have provided one summer internship.

Multiplying our internship program by four is going to be exciting. I’m an engineer, so I’m going to be in “Engineer Heaven.”

Two internships will be based in Davenport, Iowa, and two will be in Austin, Texas.

In these cases, we’re looking for interns who are working toward, an engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or manufacturing technology – with a motivation to succeed and a desire to work in this industry. We’re looking for people who have a positive, can-do attitude. And, it’s very important to be curious.

Our interns receive experience working with and around MoboTrex experts who design and produce the best quality products in our industry. But it’s far from a one-way street. Benefits are mutual and intersecting.

MoboTrex interns are working on real problems in the company. They get paid. They get experience. And they get to scout out a potential employer.

Obviously, it gives us a little more capacity to finish some projects. But just answering questions that an intern will ask, that gives us a better perspective. You may come up with new ideas just from answering or investigating those questions.

We’re a growing and changing company and we need a good source of talent for the long term. We also need to develop the people already onboard. Having some responsibility to coach or mentor an intern for the summer is a good experience for all of us.

Having interns as part of the team brings a burst of energy, because we’re either preparing for the intern to get here, coaching and mentoring them or listening to what they have learned. They are working on real problems in the company, so the intern gets a lot out of it. They get paid. They get experience. And they get to scout out a potential employer.

We get practice recruiting, onboarding and teaching somebody about our industry and our business. Those things make all of us better as individuals – and collectively.

With our internship program, as in our partnerships, we look forward to offering the expertise that results in the best mobility and traffic solutions for every customer, every day.
