As we gear up for the shiny New Year ahead, we want to celebrate our amazing MoboTrex team.
They take their expertise to the next level every day, and this past holiday season, they did the same for local people in need.
Homelessness is an issue in the Quad Cities, as it is in many metropolitan areas, and we wanted to do something for the holidays that would help in our community.
MoboTrex employee Dena Waddell-Genz suggested the local group, Saving the Perfect Stranger, which connected us with King’s Harvest homeless shelter.
King’s Harvest serves hot meals to more than 500 people each week and provides groceries to local families in need twice a month. Its shelter offers comfort, guidance and encouragement to those who need a place to stay the night.
Our Davenport location put out a donation box in December, and our generous employees filled it – not once, but twice before the deadline!
Our Davenport location put out a donation box in December, and our generous employees filled it – not once, but twice before the deadline! Employee donations included thermal wear, socks, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, hand warmers, blankets, pillows and toiletries.
It is humbling to consider that many of these things are basic items we don’t think twice about, but they can be out of reach for someone working through tough times. It was inspiring to see the efforts our employees made to help others.
At MoboTrex, we are driven to help people find solutions – not just in our work, but in life, too.
If you’re still setting New Year resolutions for 2019, we encourage you to consider helping those in need in your own communities as well.
Happy New Year!
