DAVENPORT, Iowa — MoboTrex, a leading manufacturer of signalized intersection systems, today announced Siemens Mobility Inc., a separately managed company of Siemens AG, has joined the MoboTrex dealer network. Siemens Mobility will directly and exclusively deliver MoboTrex’s Eagle brand of cabinets and signals, as part of a full suite of expert traffic solutions, to MoboTrex customers in Michigan.
“MoboTrex and Siemens Mobility have had a long and successful manufacturing and distribution partnership in the traffic and mobility industry,” said Joel Wright, president and CEO of MoboTrex. “MoboTrex provides the Eagle-branded cabinets, signals and hardware and Siemens Mobility provides the controllers and software for our traffic control systems. Together, we bring our combined customers smart, reliable and efficient signalized intersection systems.”
In November of 2013, MoboTrex acquired a division of Siemens’ traffic control systems and currently manufactures Eagle-branded products at MoboTrex’s Austin, Texas, operation.
“We have a long-standing relationship with MoboTrex, and we are excited to see it grow with this exclusive distributor agreement in Michigan,” said Marcus Welz, president of Siemens Mobility Intelligent Traffic Systems in North America. “MoboTrex products will provide a broader portfolio to our Michigan customers. We offer cutting-edge technology and service excellence as a ‘one-stop shop’ to our Michigan customers based on our advanced traffic management systems, connected vehicle technology, public transit solutions and traffic infrastructure.”
Last month, Siemens Mobility Inc. opened a new Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) office in Sterling Heights, Michigan, located just outside of Detroit, to support the company’s growing ITS portfolio in the greater Michigan area. Siemens Mobility will directly deliver road transportation products and solutions, including MoboTrex cabinets equipped with Siemens Mobility controllers and software, as well as a full complement of other third-party ITS solutions and expert services, to customers throughout Michigan.
“MoboTrex looks forward to more opportunities to collaborate with Siemens Mobility and provide smooth and efficient traffic flow at every intersection in America,” said Wright. “MoboTrex also thanks Carrier and Gable and their staff for serving MoboTrex customers as the former Michigan distributor for MoboTrex.”
